Yes, it's the obligatory year end post that everyone is writing. Try as I might to be a little more original than most, I just gotta put this out there. We have all had our ups and downs this year due to the nation's economy and such. I am hopeful 2012 will continue to see a steady climb out of the cellar. 


I have a couple new pages in the banner in case you haven't noticed, they are... links, (places to find me in the social network sphere), clients, (a list of some people and companies that I have had the pleasure of working with). So please check those out.

A few goals I have for 2012. here they are, not in any sort of order; increase traffic to my website, launch a win a photo marketing campaign, keep shooting things and people I love, retain my media photographer status (thanks NBJ), take one photo a day for the entire year and lastly, to publish a book, yeah, those things you download on your ipad or kindle :) 

The goal I am most excited about is that I am relaunching my wedding photography business with my shooting partner Yenny Walker. The website will be online in a few weeks. I will update everyone when it is live and I hope that you will visit and share with your friends.

Below is a photo from an assignment I had recently for Seigenthaler Public Relations. It was a networking event to announce another construction project in the Gulch in Nashville. Market Street Enterprises is building another condo and retail structure called Pine Street Flats, right next to the Icon.

I am lucky to have continued a good relationship with my former employer, Nashville Business Journal. Having them as a client helps me to stay informed of local current happenings. It's not as exciting as having insider knowledge like when I was their shooter, but It's next best thing. I also enjoy maintaining contacts that made while there. I recently had the opportunity to photograph a CEO of an international company that is based here, Marty Reed of Randa Solutions.

I photographed her recently for The Stanton Group, at their offices in Maryland Farms in Brentwood, TN. Erin is the new Assistant Property Manager for the CRE company. A Nashville standard that was founded in 1986 by Debra Viol, President and CEO.

Today I photographed the Wells Fargo annual Day of Giving breakfast. It was held at the Martha O'Bryan Center in East Nashville. The Middle TN region of Wells Fargo gave $1000 each to 11 worthy charities today as part of bank's national corporate giving initiative. A few of the recipients were; Ronald McDonald House, American Cancer Society and The Martha O'Bryan Center. One organization that is near and dear to my heart that was recognized was "The Contributor" otherwise known as the "homeless newspaper". I was surprised to hear just what an impact selling the newspaper has on our city's homeless population. I was also glad to learn about other programs associated with The Contributor designed to educate it's vendors. So please...when you see a homeless person waving a paper on a street corner, please stop and buy it for a dollar or 5 :) You'd be surprised what a difference that money makes to the homeless.

I don't know if you guys know or not, but DVL, one of my favorite PR & Marketing agencies in town has moved. After spending many years in a historic building in downtown Nashville, the firm traded in their cozy space with a classical decor for roomy, ultra modern digs at the Terrazzo in the Gulch. Recently I was asked to photograph the installation of their name sign and logo that now brands the 4th floor on the outside of high rise condo and office tower.

I photographed one of my favorite people in Nashville the other day...Cliff Duffey. He is the Founder and CEO of Cybera. I have been privileged to follow his success over more than a decade. To learn more about him, click the photo.
